As college students move out of their homes to their freshman year dorm room, many face the same dilemma: trying to cram all their stuff in their parent’s car! Most bring way too much stuff! But there are a few necessities which should not be overlooked:
1. A telephone. These days, most college students skip the land line and just use a cell phone. This can also function as their alarm clock, calendar, and planner too. Shop around for the cheapest plan or be nice to your parents, so they’ll keep you on theirs.
2. A computer. Most students opt for a laptop, since it’s easy to transport and doesn’t take up much space. And don’t forget a back-up system – either a Zip drive, memory stick, CD/DVD writer or even a plain old floppy drive.
3. A shower caddy – to carry your stuff to the shower. You no longer have the luxury of stock-piling your shower gels and shampoo on the bathtub ledge. We offer a trendy personalized shower caddy for girls, with matching bath towel. And don’t forget flip-flops – you don’t want to be barefoot in that dorm room shower!

4. Cleaning supplies, for your clothes, as well as your room. Laundry detergent,a roll of quarters, and a laundry bag, as well as a small broom, dustpan, dust rags and Windex should work.
5. Memories from home! Chances are that your new room isn’t the fanciest. Most dorms tend to have an institutional feel. Create a cozy feel with our personalized photo products. Our new photo wall calendar lets you keep track of your days with friendly faces.
These also make great gifts for your freshmen after they’ve been away for a while. Their mailbox can be a very lonely place, so a surprise package from home is sure to be welcomed!
Happy Moving Day!
Before you know it, the kids will be back in school, the days will be getting shorter, and summer will be coming to a close. Enjoy one last hurrah while you can! Take the kids fishing, or just spend the day relaxing at the beach. Invite friends over for margaritas. Soak up the sun one more time!
My daughter starts a new school in the Fall, and one of the classroom parents is hosting a BBQ. This is a great way for the kids and the parents to get to know each other. I’ll need to bring some type of hostess gift, but what? Our personalized beverage huggies are always a hit at parties! And they’re great for everything from soda pop to beer. Or I can make a pasta or fruit salad and bring it to the party in our personalized serving bowl (with the hostess’ name of course!) She’ll enjoy using it long after the party!

Put down that school supply list, and head outdoors for one last day of fun in the sun! Enjoy!
Good news for parents! Bad news for kids! It’s back-to-school time again! Yes, those glorious, lazy days of summer are coming to a close. Much to the dismay of school aged children everywhere, the stores are already filled with folders and loose leaf paper!
I remember the beginning of every new school year – I vowed to be neat and organized. Oh, how I enjoyed making all the new selections of markers, binders, and all the other necessary school supplies on the list. I would neatly label everything, and have it all ready to go WAY in advance of the first day. The shoes for the first day of school were also new, and carefully selected. (Since I attended private school with uniforms, the outfit was of little importance.) Our fun, new personalized labels help kids identify their books and other belongings.

Some kids feel nervous or a little scared on the first day of school because of all the new things: new teachers, new friends, and maybe even a new school. Luckily, these “worries” only stick around for a little while. And having some cool, new gear can help ease the transition. We offer a wide selection of personalized backpacks and lunch totes, for the younger crowd, as well as junior high. Embroidered with their first name, initials, or last name, each makes a statement about personal style.
