 BASSWOOD PLANK REVIEW Pictures should really be changed in advertisement. Very deceptive because it looks like you are getting an item that has a carving in it and the heart is set back a bit deeper, it's not. This is a completely flat plaque like item. No depth to it at all. Very disappointed. Not what I was looking for at all. Will not buy again.

Not as cute as i thought I knew this was not an actual carving but the printing when its in your hands looks blurry like lines are going through it

“So in Love” Personalized Basswood Plank By Shopper (San Antonio, TX) - February 16, 2020 Normally I am not disappointed with my orders. This time I must admit that I was a little disappointed. The product looked different online. I expected the heart and personalized names to actually be carved on wood but it was just a picture added to the front of the wood.

Married 46 years! I love the basswood plank because in 1969 my then boyfriend (now husband) carved our initials in a huge tree in a park we frequented. But I was disappointed that the "wood" or "bark" on the sides of the plank were quite bare as pieces of it came off from shipping. There were pieces in the wrap it was in.

Not real good I guess I expected the names to be a little more etched looking. It looks like someone just did it with a sharpie. I know ithe plaque isn’t real wood, but the names sort of disappointed me.

disappointed By Shopper (Charlotte, NC) - December 19, 2018 I was purchasing this item for my daughters wedding. I wanted to display on the bar. I thought it would add to her barn style theme.
The front was a photo of wood with a sharpie writing. I thought it would be real wood with the words woodburned.
The live wood edging is perfect. Wish the rest carried through.

Cheap I expected more than what i received. In the picture looks like it would all have the tree bark texture, but its only on the sides. The center section likr a printed image of tree bark with the heart and names. Its cheap you get what you pay for read the descriptions before you buy

Cheesy By Shopper (Jacksonville, FL) - July 16, 2018 It’s a sweet thought, but incredibly cheesy in person. I thought the heart was actually cut out in the wood, but it looks like it was just printed on a piece of fake wood.
I’m disappointed to say the least.. I may return it and purchase something else.

Hot Garbage By Shopper (Fort Sill , OK) - April 8, 2018 I expected real wood with real engraving. I should have known better. Fake engraving. Looks cheap. Was expensive for what it was and shipping was ridiculous. Never again. I could buy the tools and wood and do it my self with real wood and real engraving for half the price.

It is just a picture that is flat that looks like a carving. Nothing real looking about it but some fake bark glued on sides. Looks really cheap. So disappointed...it’s really smooth and feels like a piece of paper. No wood feel

I thought is was actual piece of wood that was engraved....however it was a board with a wood like image over top of it and the personalization looked as though it was written in ink instead of engraved. I was however happy with the ordering experience. I received my order in a timely manner. Thank you.

Not what I thought When we ordered we thought it would actually be carved out. It was only a screen print that once far away looks 3-D. Not impressed.

Not as elegant as presented By Shopper (New Windsor, NY) - February 13, 2018 The entire image is printed. No definition or texture to the wood and mine seems narrower than pictured. The wood is smooth and looks like a picture ironed on. I expected a more realistic product that seemed more 3D. Instead it is more like wallpaper pasted on to wood. Not very pleased with the product.

NOT AS IT APPEARS By Shopper (Mentor, OH) - February 4, 2018 I understood the etching of names was not carved, but printed, but seriously thought the heart shape was 3 dimensional bark-like, and had texture. Very deceiving picture. Instead, Basswood Plank is a flat photo of bark and is sadly unattractive. I will be embarrassed to give it as a gift. I may instead use it as a gag gift. I wondered why the cost was so reasonable.

Doesn’t look real in person Looks like real wood on the website, but when it arrives it’s just a canvas print with some wood on the sides. Very fake looking, not the real wood look I had expected

Not what I thought A little disappointed...I thought it would be more 3D than a plank with stamped printing. I'd love to say it looks okay, but I'm not sure I care to display in my home in any prominent place. The face of the heart is really dark so the print is hard to see. Sorry...looks a little too "cheap" for my taste.

Disappointed Didn't look at all like the picture. It's dark and looks like the names were wrote on with a Sharpie marker. Very cheesy and fake looking. :(

Disappointed in Quality By Shopper (Blairstown, NJ) - January 26, 2018 When I had seen this item on-line, I thought it would be a great addition to a room in our home that has natural wood accents. After opening this item, the face displaying our names seemed cheap, and much of the "bark" on the sides flaked off when carefully removing from the packaging. I had purchased other items in the recent past from PersonalizationMall.com and was greatly satisfied. Not this time.

Cheap Product looked nice in the online picture. Like it was actually a piece of wood that’s engraved in with my name and my gf’s name but when I received item it was literally just computer printed onto a really cheap piece of wood. I wouldn’t recommend this to anyone. Don’t buy it.

Picture looks better then product This product, which I knew was just an image looks very fake. I was excited to give to my wife and was sad to see that the wood did not look even semi real. Just FYI for anyone ordering

flat one dimensional photo the heart does not indent. it is just a photo of a tree with your names in it.

Not what I expected I knew when I selected to purchase this product that the names where going to be digitally printed on the wood. What I didn't expect was the whole look to be digitally printed. The heart, the wood look, the color, everything is printed on. I thought that the heart was at least going to be carved in giving it a 3D look. No, it's completely flat with a picture of the heart in a tree. Very disappointed. Wouldn't have purchased knowing that.

Actual WAY Different The advertisements for this product made it appear it was an ACTUAL engraving in a slab of wood. Found out in truth it is a photo copy of a tree with a blank where the names can be imprinted rather than engraved. Sorely disappointed!

Wasn't what I thought I bought this for my 5th year wedding anniversary. It was shipped and received in a timely manner. When I ordered this product I knew that the letters would not be carved into the wood. I did not realize the entire thing was just a picture on a piece of wood. I thought the heart would have been carved. I was very disappointed and would not have ordered this.

Not expected My previous purchases were hit out of the park but the Personalized basswood plank was a pop up to the pitcher. The "printed" picture is faded and doesn't give the impression of being a carved tree even from across the room. The response I got of, "oh that's nice" instead of the "OH THATS NICE" I wanted. I see in the disclaimer now it shows "Not a carved piece"
This wont keep me from ordering pieces in the future, I'll read some reviews first.

Not what I expected This item is a flat piece of something that resembles wood. The Heart that looks like it is carved in is flat like a picture of a wooden heart. It is not an indented heart on the actual piece it is flat. Unfortunately you can't personalize something and then send it back, so just don't order this.

Misleading By Shopper (austin, TX) - February 20, 2017 I was pretty let down when I got the package. Finding that it was not actually carved out but just what look like a picture of the bark carved out and slapped onto a piece of wood. The idea of the gift was good but I would have been happy to pay a few dollars more to get the real thing.
