Cute & colorful, but some boxes smallThis is a very cute "1st day" sign. The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is because I think at least one of the boxes is too small. For example, my son's "favorite book" is "The Quest for the Diamond Sword". It took me a few tries to get that all in that small box (bottom right), especially because I only had a thick marker. But I will keep the board... it's a good size, it's colorful, and has a nice thickness / weight to it. Most importantly, I am interested to see the changes year after year! :)

Very niceBy Shopper (portage, MI) - September 22, 2016 It was a very nice product, works just as described, it was just a little smaller than I imagined. But that's really my own fault for not looking at the dimensions better.

Fun gift for a two or three year oldBy Shopper (Hinsdale, IL) - September 8, 2016 Believe it or not, my nieces and nephew loved having this gift to showcase them going to school. It was so fun to see their expressions holding their board.

Very cuteI'm so glad I bought these. They're very cute and bright. They erase well and don't leave any marker behind. I just wish it was a little bit bigger so it could be read better in pictures.

First day of school dry erase boardWell made, super adorable

School boardFast shipping but when i opened it i found my daughters name did not have the 's on it ?? very disappointing!
|
Put an ' sThe product turned out super cute but don't make the same mistake I made. be sure to add an 's to your kids name. I wish there would have been a fail safe that notified me I had not done it. The instructions do say to add 's but I missed it

Awesome ideaI have not used this product yet, but as a person who photographs almost every milestone in my daughter's life, this will be a great product to use when she starts school soon!!!

Dry erase school boardGreat product! dissapointed that they didn't include a dry erase pen with it.
|
Little too hard to see and readWhile I love the concept, this one is a little hard to read. The name is fainter than it could be, and frankly would have been nice to get a "free" dry erase marker with it.
|
Product feature I didn't likeThe material the sign was made out of was very hard to write on as the writing easily smeared and didn't write very clearly
|
Writing doesn’t show up I tried multiple brands of dry erase markers and they all disappear after writing. Had to use a permanent marker to make it show up, and be seen in a photo, which defeated the purpose of purchasing a dry erase board.
|
Needs a certain marker that still not fade I think the board is very nice, but when you write on it with a expo dry erase marker, it’s starts to fade quickly! Nice board, not impressed though.

Perfect design but dry erase markers don’t workBy Shopper (Edmond, OK) - August 7, 2018 The design is awesome & I look forward to using these boards every year for my twin girls. However, the boards are too glossy and dry erase markers as well as sharpies pool on the board and fade. I finally used a paint pen and it is OK and much better but not perfect. If these boards actually accepted dry erase markers, I would give this product five stars.

Dry Erase BoardBy Shopper (Moorpark, CA) - August 3, 2018 The concept is great however, I have tried 5 dry erase markers and none of them write good on this board. I will try a few more times but if no success I will be returning them.

Ink fades in secondsCute board but when you write the in fades away in seconds. So disappointing!
|
Nice product but holes in cornersThe product is as shown. But you can't see it in the picture that there is a hole in all 4 corners. Not sure why they are there. maybe to hang? But why on the bottom too? Plus the holes are not just in the black part they are on the colored banner sections so they are noticeable. Would have liked to know about this before purchasing item. Too late now.

writing too smalli love this idea to create memories each school year. the problem is that the writing is so small you can't even read it. definitely disappointed!

First day of school boardBy Shopper (Lake Orion , MI) - September 3, 2018 The board itself is super cute but the dry erase marker does not show up well on it. It quickly fades and can't be read in picture. Very disappointed!

Surface too glossyLike some reviews mentioned, dry erase marker does not work well on this sign because of the extremely glossy surface. The ink pulls away from the surface causing the writing to look jagged and shrunken. Beautiful board but poor quality for writing. Using a permanent marker works much better (can be wiped off with rubbing alcohol).

Too glossy? By Shopper (Herndon, VA) - August 25, 2018 Item was delivered to me quickly. Exactly as pictured. Looks nice, however I’m still looking for a marker that will write on it. The Expo dry erase marker that I purchased with it seems to shrink and disappear. Customer service told me to wipe the board down with alcohol. This only helped a little bit. The writing still shrinks but it doesn’t disappear completely. I was asked to ship them back (at my expense) so they can figure out what is wrong.

Not a dry erase boardBy Shopper (Fredericksburg , VA) - August 12, 2018 This product may be cute but it doesn’t hold the dry erase marker or permanent marker. When you write on it the marker thins out and is all splotchy. I guess when you pay cheap you get a cheap product. Will be last time I order from here.

Cute, but dosen't work greatBy Shopper (Florida, NY) - September 18, 2017 I love the style of this board and it is super cute. However, I tried numerous different brand dry erase markers and none of them adhere to the board. They all kind of have the oil on water effect so you can't read it well. I ended up using a permanent marker and they using alcohol to wipe off.

Poor dry eraseBy Shopper (Williamston, MI) - September 10, 2017 I love the way this looks, but even with name brand Expo dry erase markers (I went out and bought some because my off brand dry erase markers didn't work at all) the marker does not stay on the board. It comes together in thin lines instead of staying where it was drawn. It took me a long time of going over each letter for it to be readable. I didn't have enough days to send it back or get a new one before the first day of school so I just had to make do. I would not recommend this product.

Sign too glossy The dry erase marker begins to fade right away. They made the sign too glossy. Sign looks nice.

disappointed in personalized boardBy Shopper (Irvington, NY) - September 26, 2017 I had such high hopes for this board but unfortunately it did not live up to its expectations. I purchased two for my twin daughters first day of school. It looks very cute. As soon as I started writing on it with the expo dry erase marker that I had purchased with it, the writing was almost disappearing and looking very strange. The more I wrote, the more the letters started shrinking into itself. It's hard to explain. It's like the ink was slipping off the smooth surface. I was not able to use them. I am disappointed and I will returning both of these for a refund.
