I thought it would be more like burlap, but it’s a thick, smooth material. The colors look great as does the entire finished product. I used my daughter's family names as well as her dogs, alive and deceased dogs, schools, community names, 19 in all. I cannot wait to give it to her which I will do around Thanksgiving so they can show it off and enjoy it. What a wonderful treat it will be for her!
